Important: 2026-2027 FAFSA Processing Pause Starting April 26, 2026

A federal FAFSA system update on April 26, 2026 will temporarily pause schools’ ability to process some 2026-2027 financial aid records while systems are updated. This impacts schools nationwide.

• Who is affected: Students with 2026-2027 FAFSA-related processing (FAFSA loads, verification updates, PLUS loans) submitted on/after April 26, 2026.
• What to expect: Items received during the pause will be held and processed once updates are complete. We have no current timeline for this pause, but will resume 2026-2027 financial aid processes as soon as the required system updates are received.
• What does this mean to you? 
  • Already submitted your 2026-2027 FAFSA? Check your student dashboard on SOAR for any financial aid to do list items that may need your attention, but otherwise, no action is needed.
  • Submitted your 2026-2027 FAFSA just before or after April 26th? Please expect processing delays since we cannot load your FAFSA, but know that once we can, we will let you know that we have resumed processing!
  • Haven't submitted your 2026-2027 FAFSA? It's not too late and you still can complete it after April 26th. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible!
• Questions? For questions about the status of your 2026-2027 FAFSA submitted after April 26th, you can always confirm your FAFSA is complete by logging into the .

If the FAFSA status indicates processed, it has been sent to the institution. We will not be able to load into SOAR until the system updates are completed.  When we are able to load into SOAR we will process aid for approved FAFSA's and/or send out FAFSA verification notices as soon as possible.
