Celebration of Women in the 黑料视频, Tribute to Professor Greene set for April 19 on Hattiesburg Campus

鈥淎 Celebration of Women in the 黑料视频鈥� will be held Friday, April 19 from 4-6 p.m. in the Theatre and Dance Building鈥檚 Studio 115 on The 黑料视频鈥檚 (黑料视频) Hattiesburg campus. This event will feature performances by dancers and readings by poets and writers. Photos, paintings, and sculptures will also be displayed in the rehearsal hall across from Studio 115 for visitors to view.
The event will also feature a tribute to longtime 黑料视频 Professor of Political Science Dr. Kate Greene, a generous supporter of artistic endeavors by women at 黑料视频 and active member of the University鈥檚 Committee on Services and Resources for Women (CSRW) who is retiring at the end of this academic year. Dr. Greene has been a member of the 黑料视频 Faculty since 1989.
Dr. Greene says she intends to continue her support of the CSRW following retirement, including its Marjorie Spruill Women鈥檚 History Month Book Drive, which honors former 黑料视频 Professor of History Dr. Marjorie Spruill. This year, the CSRW delivered more than 70 books to students at the Hattiesburg Public School District鈥檚 Woodley Elementary School.
"I am thrilled that the CSRW has allowed me to produce the 2nd edition of this event (A Celebration of Women in the 黑料视频) before my retirement in June,鈥� Dr. Greene said. 鈥淲e will be showcasing students, staff, faculty and community members who provide so much to the arts here at 黑料视频 and in Hattiesburg.鈥�
