In-Person Exam Proctoring

Your Guide to Taking Online Exams at hattiesburg:

Beginning on July 1, 2026, all online exams taken on the Hattiesburg Campus will be proctored through SAS. With this shift, students can expect a few changes:

  1. This change does not affect exam proctoring policies on the Gulf Park campus or in the Scianna Hall Testing 黑料视频.
  2. There is no fee associated with in-person exam proctoring for the Hattiesburg campus as of July 1, 2026.
  3. SAS does not oversee the scheduling and/or proctoring of exams through ProctorU. For information about ProctorU, students may visit the ProctorU FAQ for Students webpage. If additional information is needed, please contact canvassupportFREEMississippi.%20
  4. The Hattiesburg campus testing center is located in McLemore Hall, Room 112. Exams will only be proctored from 8:30 until 3:00 on Monday through Friday.
  5. Exams must be scheduled at least two (2) days before the examination date.
    You may schedule as many exams as you'd like; however, ensure that the date and time of your exam align with your instructor's requirements. Instructors will be notified of all scheduled exams.
  6. Unless specified otherwise by your instructor, personal laptops/computers/processing devices may not be used to take exams in the testing center. 
  1. Complete the at least two (2) days before your exam date. 
  2. Be sure that you schedule your exam for a date and time that aligns with your instructor's syllabus. Instructors reserve the right to deny a proctoring request if the requested date and time do not match their schedule.
  3. On the day of your exam, report to Student Accessibility Services at McLemore Hall, room 112 at least fifteen minutes before your scheduled exam time.
  4. You must have a photo ID to take an exam.
  5. All online exams must be taken on SAS machines unless otherwise noted by an instructor. 

Students can schedule exams for the Gulf Park Testing 黑料视频 (Gulf Park Library, Room 210) by using . 

It is the primary responsibility of the student taking the exam to secure a proctor. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth proctoring experience:

  1. Locate an appropriate proctor.
    • Examples of appropriate proctors: College Testing 黑料视频s, Public Libraries (where available), Testing Facilities
    • Examples of inappropriate proctors: Supervisors, Co-Workers, Family Members, Friends, Former Teachers,
  2. If you have a question about whether a proctor is appropriate, email sasFREEMississippi.%20
  3. Work with your chosen proctor to ensure availability.
  4. Once you confirm their availability, complete the and be sure to indicate that you plan to take an exam at a non-黑料视频 location..
    • Once you submit the application, a member of our team will follow up to confirm your appointment and any next steps, if necessary.
  5. Be sure to follow all policies of your chosen proctoring location.

Yes! SAS now facilitates in-person exam proctoring for all Hattiesburg students. 

Our office suite is located in McLemore Hall, Room 112. All exams will be proctored in Room 156. 

Online Exam Proctoring FAQs for Faculty:

With this shift, there are some changes to the University Proctoring Policy. The university community can find an index of our policies here

No proctored exams are to be scheduled or required before the third (3rd) week of the class during fall and spring semesters. No proctored exam should be scheduled before the second (2nd) week for summer semester. This time period is needed for students to submit their applications for examination by proctor, and for identifying and approving proctors, and the verification of exam dates.

As before, all instructors must submit a password/instruction document(s) for each online exam(s) no later that the tenth (10th) working day of the semester.

The password/instruction document should include the date(s) the exam is to be given, time allotted to take the exam, navigation to the exam and any instructions as to what students may have with them during the exam. If you would like a sample document, one can be provided to you by SAS.
